Dr. Girish PV is a Neuromuscular Orthodontist and TMJ specialist with several distinctions to his name.

He has 18 plus years of clinical dental practice experience and from the last 8 years progressed from old philosophies of extraction orthodontics to non-extraction and expansion protocols using Neuromuscular Orthodontics for several years now.

The focus of his treatments from then on has been “Airway Focussed Orthodontics” and the approach is not only about the patients’ teeth but to treat the entire face and associated structures including airway, posture, TMJ and so on.

He has been treating patients using Neuromuscular concepts for TMJ and Sleep Apnoea patients from 2015. He went on to attain his fellowship from ICCMO (USA) and pursue his training of Neuromuscular Orthodontics under the guidance of Dr Fabio Savastano (Italy). Later went on to do his Pediatric Dental Sleep Medicine residency from TUFTS, Boston (USA).

He is trained in the use of DNA and mRNA appliance which is the new revolution in Obstructive Sleep Apnea treatment. He is also competent in the use of ALF appliance — the only orthodontist in India to have had the training in it. Apart from that, he is one of the few orthodontists, practicing MSE appliance (Maxillary skeletal expander) for palatal sutural opening for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Snoring. He is the first person in India to treat Adult Sleep Apnea patients with the DOME procedure — which is a surgical/ general anaesthetic process to fast track sleep apnoea treatments with MSE appliances.

He has lectured in Singapore , Malaysia and more recently in Moscow for Orthodontic and TMJ related topics.

For the past few years, he has been focussing on the diagnosis and Neuromuscular Orthodontics using the K7 (Myokinesiography- Jaw tracker) for diagnosing and treating TMJ and sleep apnoea patients.

His aim is to educate fellow orthodontists and dentists about the perils of extraction protocols and to ensure they are avoided in orthodontic treatments.
